Three generations, one lane in Zaveri Bazaar
In India, jewellery is rarely bought for itself. It is bought for a wedding, a first job, a grandchild's naming, a house finally paid for. It marks the moment, and then it stays in the family long after everyone who was there has stopped telling the story.
We started in 2008 with one counter and two karigars. Almost fifty years later we still work in the same lane, with families whose grandmothers bought their first bangles from us — and who now bring their daughters in to choose a bridal set.
That is the only reputation worth having in this trade. It is also why we would rather explain a bill line by line than close a sale quickly.
